Work Christmas party 2006

14th Dec 2006

What a night to remember… Wednesday, the 14th of December was our work Christmas party and involved a veritable plethora of wonderfully free activities. When I say free, of course, I mean the boss payed for it!

Work was another normal day, thankfully there were no server crashes (yes, unfortunately we do run a windows server as well as Linux) or last minute scurryings to make changes for clients. So, we were all relaxed and ready for some of the best Indian food in Brisbane from a place called “Sitar. I have been there before, for my sisters birthday and after completion of a CD-ROM project called “Make It Real that the client was incredibly happy with. We twisted the arms of the staff there a little so we could get the best table seating and enjoyed bloating ourselves with fine cuisine.

From dinner, we piled into the SM2 Audi and flew (Kley has a lead-foot) out to DFO (near the airport) to witness the fantastic French spectacle known as “Cirque De Solielâ€?. I must admit that prior to seeing it, I was a little scepticle and only semi-enthused. But after witnessing it, I’m not sure that I could explain in words how incredible this show really is.

Unfortunately, getting out of DFO is one of the most nightmare-ish tasks you will ever encounter. But much immaturity and laughter sprang from being stuck in a car that long, and finished up an awesome night quite well.

While I didn’t drink in alcohol at all during the night, I did wake up with a very nasty headache, but nothing could stain such an enjoyable evening.
