Hi, I'm James Angus. I have a greed for learning, an obsession with all things web; I am in love with standards, accessibility, creating things for use by people and yes, this site was designed on a mac.

If you didnt have the "NCH Swift Sound" folder in AppSupport, and then you cant create a new folder in that location, then just create "NCH Swift Sound" folder ouside appsupport, place the mp3el file in there and move the folder into appsupport

Hey Luke,

As long as you have administrative privileges, just right-click and you should see "New Folder" in the context menu.

Obviously, if you don't see that menu-item then you're not an Administrator.

Hi Luke,

If you get to the /Library/Application Support/ folder and you don't see the "NCH Swift Sound" folder, then you can create it and put the mp3el file in that. Just make sure you get all the casing correct etc... ;-)

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I use another piece of NCH software - Express Scribe, and it's an awesome little piece of free software (I use it for transcribing audio work). When I came across a program that could convert my much hated WMA files I was over the moon. And it was FREE! My smiley turned into a frowney though when not only did it bring up an error message - but the error message was for a PC version! But then I suppose free software is just that. So what can we expect? Anyway I must get to the point - thank you for providing this info. I'm using OSX Tiger and found the bottom solution worked best. Unfortunately even after installing Flip4Mac I still have trouble with pesky rights protected files. But at least the others files work.

It really is unfortunate that Apple doesn't take notice of this WMA problem as my amazing Mac has now fallen further in the eyes of my PC colleagues. The Mac is advertised as being compatible and a team player in the PC world. WMAs send the world a much different picture.

Alright I'm getting carpal tunnel syndrome here. I must leave

Thank you once again.

I've tried a different approach that have worked for me.

I installed the product and the plus add-on in a user that was not administrator. And I got the same error of "installed-on-demand failed".

Then, I ran the installation setups (application and "plus") in the admin user login.

Got back to the non-admin user and it started to work.

I can't make it work neither, the version of switch I have is 1.12. I tried putting the file under /Library/Application Support/NCH Swift Sound/ and $HOME/Library/Application Support/NCH Swift Sound/, but to no avail, switch still gives me the "fail to download" warning dialog.
