Blagh… A word that Jeffrey Zeldman used quite appropriately recently, but also a word that I can very much identify with of late.

Work’s been busy… No, actually that’s an understatement - we’re completely snowed under with another three phone calls just this week for very large jobs. So, if you know any PHP Developers and/or Designers! ;-)

It’s not just work that’s been driving me down though. I seem to have real trouble speaking the word “no” whenever someone asks me to do some web-stuff for them. Hence, I have an ever growing list of things to do for friends and family (outside of work). And then there’s the other side project that I have going with some guys from work called “Musicadium” which is becoming more and more demanding of my time.

All this is amplified by the fact that my poor (brand new) little Macbook is having an extended stay in hospital, leaving me with this centuries old HP - BAH!!! :S

However, amongst my annoyances, lack of sleep and sudden rise in Migraine frequency, the good things that happen in life have been magnified also. My good friend Sarah was kind enough to invite me to Dreamworld last Sunday, which turned out to be an almost perfect day. The sun was out, the temprature was nothing short of bliss and I finally got to ride the “Cyclone”, which I had just missed out on last time after a freak storm hit as I was getting on the ride.

I also received not one, but TWO new CD’s from the band “MuteMath” and a book titled “DOM Scripting” by Jeremy Keith. The CD’s are unreal and MuteMath has become my new favourite band. The book was very good, one that I’d highly recommend to anyone in the web-design industry. Though, I found that it covered alot of what I have been learning over the last few months and reading it became more of a confirmation excercise than pure improvement.

The side-effect to the reading and listening is that I haven’t gone home to spend my nights in front of another screen, which I hope is giving my body a bit of a break; Though the Migraines speak otherwise…

Unfortunately, there’s alot I can’t speak about right now, but there are some exciting things going on in the wings and I’m still enjoying it all. Still haven’t heard anything from Mearesy in regards to his blog (*stamps foot repeatedly*)???
