MAMP and .htaccess / mod_rewrite

Ahh, the wonderful world of web-serving. It’s a joyous thing if you know what you’re doing and a down-right hair-pulling extravoganza if you don’t.

I myself probably sit somewhere in the middle there… I have a basic understanding, but mostly tend to fumble my way through life while holding a Tech Admin’s hand. :P

BrokeBook blues

I purchased a new MacBook. Yes, I’m a yuppy… An Apple Geek… A Designer… And yes I did pay for it hansomely. I thought it would be a great idea to buy it through an Apple reseller, namely “Streetwise” as they were cheaper and I figured it would probably ship to me quicker as they would no doubt have some in stock (being Apple’s most popular model).

Moo to you 2

Anyone working in web-related industries these days, knows well that there has been an influx of frameworks in the last couple of years. It’s not as if they’re a new concept; you only have to take a quick glance around to see a plethora of rapid development frameworks. The one’s that come to mind are things like Django for Python, Symfony for PHP and of course Rails for Ruby - which I personally feel popularised web-frameworks in our day and age. However, if you dig deeper you begin to see how over-populated this space is.
